So what is actually required?

Annual Gate Force Testing and Service:

Basic routine checks should be carried out on all mechanical parts and lubricants used to help your equipment perform efficiently. Should a problem be identified you will be advised accordingly. A service record is issued for you to keep with your annual force testing results.

The force Test should be carried out annually. Our engineers have been trained to the highest standard to carry out force testing to all types of gates, automatic doors, roller shutters and barriers. We carry out a full test which takes up to two hours to perform. From the KMG Lite equipment used, we produce detailed test report and then we can identify if work needs to be undertaken to bring the installation up to the HSE requirements.

The whole process takes around 2 hours to perform and you will be issued with the results which you must retain as evidence for your insurers and the HSE. We are also obliged to keep these test results for a minimum of 10 years.

Where a gate cannot be made complaint to force testing, it can usually be made to comply by adding other presence detection measures and issued with a new risk assessment Where an individual has decided not to comply with the regulations, we have to record that contact has been made and issue them with a non compliance document.
